Moments of Extreme Happiness: 2011

Fun fact: for the first time in three years, I did not leave the country at all in 2011.  Where previous years were highlighted by bouts of beach bumming and backpacking and a general lack of any real direction, I spent much of this year with my nose to the grindstone.  I spent an obscene amount of time in the law library at UW, more time than necessary at the IMA, and one ridiculous summer pretending that I was able to sit still at a desk for 8 hours per day.  I made it through, but have slept most of the past four days since finishing my last fall quarter of all time.  Turns out that working hard + playing hard = a pretty sleepy Booker.  If 2011 was the year of extreme work and play, it is my objective for 2012 is going to be the year of taking it just a little bit easy.

It’s easy to forget how important fun is when you have 80 hours of commitments per week to juggle.  Sunday Fundays fall by the wayside, friends forget your phone number, and the personal shoppers at Nordstrom stop calling to tell you they have set aside fun new shoes/jeans/sweaters for you to pick up.  Somewhere between the projects, events, work, seminars, and gym time I found a few minutes to have a ridiculously good time this year.  Here are some of them, in somewhat/mostly chronological order.
